Close Encounters #1 (in private collection)
I recently embarked on a journey into the world of historical century photographic processes, creating labour intensive photographs by hand – an approach rare in the age of digital images.
Using collodion wet plate techniques I produce unique images on glass or metal. The almost magical process of making these images not only influences the result in terms of the
aesthetic but has an effect on the theme and concept of my recent work.
“Close Encounters” is a story of meetings with one’s self. Encountered as fragments portraits, memories or dreams, they leave room for the imagination.
5x7 Wet Plate Collodion Ferrotypes.

'238 x 504 / Po Horyzont'
Bielańska 10 róg Plac Teatralny, Warszawa
Masters of Fine Arts final project at the Academy of Fine and Applied Arts in Poznań (Department of Multimedia Communication, Major: Photography).
Promoters: Professor Stefan Wojnecki & Krzysztof J.Baranowski
'238 x 504 / Po Horyzont' is a commentary to the domination of advertisement in the public space. I'm trying to drown the cacophony of commercials by cleansing the cityscape of advertisements, and to draw attention to other than commercial uses of media such as billboards.
I wanted to use the 238 x 504 cm format to realize my desire to see a horizon, rare in the urban landscape. The horizon, just as an advertisement, is a metaphor of promise, change or fulfillment of desires, where the fulfillment is a discovery, that behind every conquered horizon there is another.

'Kitchen Diaries XI'
'Kitchen Diaries' is series of unique, abstract still life photograms of a very ephemeral nature—the original images once publically exhibited were allowed to continually over-expose until they became unrecognizable and finally disappeared completely.
This is a documentation of this process by way of a number of individual photographs of these exposures during their evolution towards darkness. Each image is printed onto acid free Bamboo Matt Fine Art Paper, backed with archival board and mounted. Limited to an edition of 1, 15 or 25, signed and numbered.
